Activities Information
- Music Theory – Just what are all of those symbols, signs, numbers, lines and spaces all about and how do they embrace the sounds we hear when listening to our favorite songs? Well, we’re glad you asked. In this activity students will actually learn how the language of music is written on paper and made into the sounds that we hear when a song is performed on an instrument.
- Piano Introduction & Instruction – Students get the opportunity to put their music theory knowledge into action as they learn first-hand how to express the musical notes and symbols that they see on paper. All students are challenged to learn a couple of simple songs as they actually read what is written before them on the sheet of music. Learning the piano keys and corresponding notes on the sheet of music as they play along.
- Painting, Drawing, and Sketching – Expressing themselves on canvas and paper is and always will be a favorite thing to do for many students as they develop shapes, colors, and artistic themes from the depths of their minds. It’s all Art and everyone expresses it differently.
- Poetry and Inspirational Quotes – Based on our seasonal theme, students will read, study, and learn more about the theme as well as reading poetry and inspirational quotes. Students also write and develop some of their own poems and quotes based on our seasonal theme as well as learn to recite some of them. Feel good quotes, encouraging quotes, empowering quotes, funny quotes, and inspiring quotes can be written, remembered, and shared during the season's recital.
